What Is Ruqyah?
Ruqyah is the recitation of verses from the Qur’an used to cure ailments. It is also a way to increase one’s Iman and taqwa for Allah the Almighty. It can also treat symptoms of the evil eye, exorcism of jinns, sihr (black magic or witchcraft) and many other spiritual and physical ailments.
Performing ruqyah is very important for all Muslims. It is a way to protect themselves from the effects of evil eyes, jealousy and other ills that come from Satan. It is a great way to increase one’s Iman and make them feel closer to Allah the Almighty. However, there are certain things that must be followed to perform ruqyah correctly.
The first thing that must be done is to remove all forms of evil from the house. This includes omitting any animated pictures that are present in the house and getting rid of any amulets containing indecipherable text associated with shirk. This is very important as the imposters that claim to be ruqyah often use these items to harm people.
It is also important to make sincere istighfar and avoid committing sins. This is a very important part of the process as it is mentioned in the hadiths that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said that a strong legal ruqyah comes from charity.
Lastly, it is important to make ablution before beginning the ruqyah process. This is very important because it is a part of the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). A person should also wear a good quality turban for protection from evil eyes and to keep the hair and skin clean. what ruqyah means
