Matter Residences Launches Smart Home Technology
Matter residences is one of the new condo launched at Mattar Road, Singapore. The development is located close to Canossa Convent Primary School, Macpherson Primary School and other good schools. Neighborhood shops like NTUC Fairprice, Sims Vista Market & Food Centre are also within walking distance from the condominium.
The biggest smart home brands have been announcing their plans to support Matter since before CES 2024, with the likes of Philips Hue, Eve Systems and WiZ announcing upgrades to existing devices that will make them Matter compatible. If a device has an independent bridge that supports different standards, it should be possible to bring it into the Matter ecosystem via an over-the-air firmware update (although the inexorable march of capitalism should ensure many companies choose to flog you more stuff instead).
At launch, Matter will work with only a small number of devices across a few categories: smart light bulbs and fixtures; smart plugs; and smart thermostats and other HVAC controls. It won’t yet support more advanced features, like energy monitoring in smart plugs or complicated scene control in smart lights — that will have to wait for the smart home platforms.
But the big thing about Matter is that it uses Thread, which is already built into most of the major flagship smart home hubs and speakers. That means the new technology should be easier to install in your existing home, and the lower power mesh networking is designed to be more reliable than Wi-Fi and more secure than a traditional centralized router. matter residences
